ISSUE:

Teachers are increasingly overwhelmed as they try to meet the diverse academic and behavioral needs of their students. There are also grave concerns about classroom safety. This can lead to burnout and less effective learning environments, especially for students who are already struggling and need more individualized attention.

SOLUTION:

Advocate for hiring more paraeducators to support teachers and provide help to students who need it most. Additionally, launch a community initiative to invite local retirees to volunteer in our schools as classroom mentors. Many retirees have time, wisdom, and life experience they’d be eager to share—and even just a few hours a week could make a meaningful impact. Strengthening the support network around our teachers is essential to improving both morale and student success. Back to Basics.
